Abstract

This study is designed to make an analysis of the frequency, significance and difficulty of the educational contents of clinical practice for students at the department of dental hygiene, to figure out what differences there are between the results and to present basic materials necessary for the education of clinical practice.
The researcher worked with a total of 188 students who had clinical practice : they break down into 78 subjects (A University located Masan) and 110 subjects (B University located in Jinju). They were encouraged to fill out the questionnaires.
This study resorted to SPSS 10.0 for Windows for the sake of all analysis with the significance level standing at ¥á=.05. I have come up with the following conclusions.
In terms of the frequency of clinical practice, the study shows that in case of A University, dental-clinic cooperation, cooperation of patient treatment for pediatrics and special dental clinic, cooperation for the treatment of dental prosthesis, cooperation for preventive dentistry & treatment, cooperation for dental orthodontic treatment, management support, cooperation for oral surgery, dental radiography, cooperation for periodontal treatment, preventative treatment of dental caries, and education of dental health are in due order. In case of B University, cooperation for prosthetic treatment, cooperation for dental treatment, cooperation for operative dentistry treatment, management support, cooperation for the treatment of pediatric patients and special dental clinic clients, cooperation for oral surgery, cooperation for orthodontic treatment, cooperation for periodontal treatment, dental radiography, dental health education, and preventive dentistry of dental caries are in the right order.
In case of significance, the survey shows that in case of A University, cooperation for dental surgery and treatment, cooperation for orthodontic treatment, cooperation for prosthetic treatment, cooperation for the treatment of pediatric patients and special dental clinic clients, management support, cooperation for preservative dentistry treatment, dental radiography, cooperation for dental treatment, cooperation for periodontal treatment, preventative treatment of dental caries, and education of dental health are in regular order. The survey also indicates that in case of B University, dental surgery treatment, prosthetic treatment, cooperation for the treatment of pediatric patients and special dental clinic clients, dental orthodontic treatment, management support, treatment of preservative dentistry, dental treatment, periodontal treatment, dental radiography, dental caries prevention treatment, and education of dental health are in the right order.
In case of difficulty, the research shows that in case of A University, cooperation for dental surgery and treatment, cooperation for the treatment of pediatric patients and special dental clinic clients, cooperation for dental orthodontic treatment, dental radiography, cooperation for preventative dentistry, management support, cooperation for dental prosthetic treatment, cooperation for dental treatment, cooperation for periodontal treatment, treatment for the prevention of dental caries, and education of dental health are in due order. The research also indicates that in case of B university, dental surgery treatment, cooperation for the treatment of pediatric patients and special dental clinic clients, cooperation for dental prosthetic treatment, cooperation for dental orthodontic treatment, cooperation for preservative dentistry, radiography, cooperation for dental treatment, cooperation for periodontal treatment, management support, treatment for the prevention of dental caries and education of dental health are in regular order.
